Change you approach resolutions!

Happy New Year!

𝑪𝒂𝒏 𝑰 𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒉𝒚 𝑰'𝒎 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒂 𝒉𝒖𝒈𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝑵𝒆𝒘 𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔?

"Re" is a prefix that, in Latin, means "again" or "again and again."

If what you have been consistently doing consistentlyto achieve a goal hasn't been working, then stop (𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞).

Conversely, if it has worked but stopped working, you have to honestly ask yourself...

"Was I consistent in my execution?"

If the answer is "yes", then here is the good news, you just have to pivot and adapt. No different that graduating from basic arithmetic to algebra, you have graduated from one step to another.

If you have 𝗡𝗢𝗧 been consistent in your execution, then stop and go back. I think we can both agree that saying something doesn't work when the effort and execution has not been consistent, is not the right approach.

So, with the start of 2024. Here is the challenge.

𝐎𝐧 𝐚 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞, 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠

"𝐈 𝐀𝐌 (fill in the blank)."  Fill in the blank with what you want to be or achieve.  Example.  If you want to exercise at least 3 days per week, write...

"I AM exercising 3 days per week!"

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝟑 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲. 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞: 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫, 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧.

The difference between "I AM_________________" and "I will try ________" is that the latter allows too much room for justifying moments of failure. "𝐈 𝐀𝐌" 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠.

Examples:
I AM HEALTHY.
I AM STRONG.
I AM DISCIPLINED.
I AM CONFIDENT.

Versus

I will try to be healthy.
I will try to be strong.
I will try to be disciplined.
I will try to be confident.

See and hear the difference?

Do you know what you want to write down?
